Woman taken to hospital after Droitwich car crash
Emergency services were called to Westwood Road in the town at 11.40am this morning (Tuesday, November 21). A red Volkswagen car and a silver Volkswagen van were involved in the crash. “Upon arrival we found a man and a woman from each car,” said a spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, who said two ambulances and a paramedic officer had attended.
“A woman from the first car was assessed and had sustained non-life threatening injuries. “She received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Worcester Royal Hospital for further assessment. “A man who was the driver of the second car was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained potentially serious injuries which were not life threatening.
“He declined further treatment from ambulance staff and received self care advice before being discharged at the scene. No further patients required assessment.” A fire service spokesman said: “Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Malvern and Worcester Fire Stations – were called at 11.47pm on November 21 to an RTC involving two vehicles at the junction of Westwood Road and Crofters Way in Droitwich.
“The incident involved a car and a van. There were seven casualties, including four children and three adults with one female casualty in her 30s handed over to the care of the ambulance service. “The road was completely closed by police who were also in attendance.”
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: “We received a call around 11.40am this morning (21 November) with a report of a collision on Westwood Road in Droitwich.
