Woman ‘verbally abused, spat at and hit on bus in racist attack’ as cops appeal for help

Police are appealing for help after they say a woman was racially abused, assaulted and spat at on a bus. West Mercia Police have released photos of a man and woman wanted in relation to the incident in Redditch, Worcestershire. The victim was on the number 57/58 Diamond bus when she was targeted.

Police said a man and women hurled racist abuse before they spat at her and assaulted her. Officer today have released details of the incident which happened on July 22 at around 4.45pm alongside the image of the two people they would like to speak to. PC George Bednall from West Merica Police said: "I know this incident happened some time ago, but I'd ask you to cast your mind back and if you have any information about the incident or know who the two people are in the pictures, I urge you to contact me.

We take all reports of hate crime very seriously, no-one should be targeted for being themselves and we never underestimate the devastating effect being a victim of a hate crime can have on people."
