1 dead, 1 detained in North Collinwood shooting

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland police are investigating a shooting in North Collinwood as a homicide early Thursday morning.

Police say they responded to the area of East 185th Street and Harland Avenue around 3:30 a.m..

Homicide detectives responded to the scene after police say they found a woman shot.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 23-year-old Dimesha Wright.

Officers confirmed a child was transported to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital to be checked out but that it had not suffered serious injuries.

A person of interest has been detained by police, Cleveland officers confirmed.
