Emergency services were called to the scene on Main South Road in Second Valley, where four other teenagers, also passengers in the Toyota HiLux, required treatment.

The driver, a 17-year-old Dover Gardens boy, along with the three other passengers; two 15-year-old girls from St Morris and Crafers and a 16-year old boy from Maslin Beach, were all taken to Flinders Medical Centre for non-life-threatening injuries. The teenagers had been staying at the Second Valley Caravan Park, The Advertiser[1] reported.

Main South Road was closed for several hours while Major Crash officers examined the scene and circumstances surrounding the accident. The road has since reopened. Strong, gusty winds were reported around the Fleurieu Peninsula on Sunday.

While no other vehicles were reported to be involved, an investigation into the crash is ongoing.

The teen’s death marks the 106th life lost on South Australian roads compared to 66 this time last year.
