17-year-old dead, 3 injured in crash near Blenheim

(Chris Ensing/CBC – image credit) A 17-year-old woman has died in a crash that injured three others near Blenheim Thursday night, Chatham-Kent police say. Emergency crews responded around 9:45 p.m. to a single-car crash on Allison Line, west of Blenheim.

Police say the car was travelling northeast when the driver lost control of the vehicle and rolled several times before landing on its roof. There were four people in the car Three people, a 16-year-old and two 17-year olds, were transported to hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

A 17-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, police said the investigation by the traffic management unit is ongoing.

“The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of this young woman, as well as to everyone impacted by this tragic collision.”
