2 dead after being struck by vehicle on Hamilton Street

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Two pedestrians are dead after a motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Allentown. Allentown police say the accident occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of West Hamilton Street.

When police arrived, a 43-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man were located and taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, where they succumbed to their injuries. According to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, the woman was pronounced dead at 1:56 a.m., the man was pronounced dead at 2:44 a.m. The coroner says both victims have been identified and families notified, but their names have not been released to provide privacy for the families.

The driver of the motor vehicle was not injured.

The accident is being investigated by the Allentown Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit.
