1. Five ‘evil’ people jailed for 100 years for ‘honeytrap’ killing

The five individuals – two of which were found guilty of manslaughter and three of murder – were sentenced at St Albans Crown Court[1] on Friday (December 8). They had previously been convicted of the robbery and killing of Vishal Gohel, who was discovered unresponsive in his second-floor flat in Bushey High Street.

After several items were stolen from a petrol station, a CCTV image has been released. The items were taken from the BP service station[2] in Uxbridge Road, Rickmansworth, at around 7.10am on Wednesday (December 6). Hertfordshire police believe the man pictured may have been in the area at the time.

Watford man jailed for life after murdering his father

(Image: Hertfordshire Constabulary) A 24-year-old Watford man has been jailed for life after being found guilty of murdering his father. Husnein Amjad, of Fuller Road, was sentenced on Thursday[3] (December 7) following a 13-day trial at St Albans Crown Court.

He will now spend a minimum of 17 years in prison before he’s considered for parole.

4. ‘Armed robber’ targets girl, 12, and four others in Watford area

(Image: Vic Jo/ Herts Police) A man reportedly put a fake gun to a 12-year-old’s chest in one of five attempted robberies last night – sparking a police manhunt. The suspect committed two robberies and two attempted robberies[4] near Woodside Stadium, Watford, at around 6.20pm on Tuesday (December 5).

Another victim was then targeted at around 9.45pm in Katherine Place, Abbots Langley, which involved them being forced to drive to an ATM and withdraw cash.

5. Mystery as body found 34 hours after ‘minor’ crash

(Image: Paul Ridley)A man’s body was found on Monday (December 4), 34 hours after a “minor collision” on the M1 near Watford. Hertfordshire police believe that he was struck by a vehicle[5] “sometime” between 2.30pm – when he was found – and 4.30am the previous day.

Herts Police told the Watford Observer that the man’s vehicle is believed to have been hit by another vehicle, which didn’t stop at the scene, during a “minor collision” at 4.30am on Sunday.

But officers are still trying to establish what happened between then and when his body was found.
