63-year-old man dead after SUV and transport truck collide near Norris Arm

Police are investigating a collision between two vehicles on the Trans-Canada Highway that left one man dead. The crash happened near Norris Arm, N.L., around 7 p.m. NT on Tuesday.
Police say an SUV and a transport truck collided head-on. A 63-year-old man, the lone occupant of the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the transport truck was treated for minor injuries at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor.
The province’s chief medical examiner has been brought in to investigate.
A collision analyst with the RCMP’s traffic services division also attended the scene.
