A52 live updates as ‘very serious’ incident shuts main Nottingham road near Bramcote and Wollaton
The A52 in Nottingham[1] is closed due to a “very serious” incident this evening (Tuesday, December 19). The eastbound carriageway is shut between the A6007 for Bramcote and the A6464 for Wollaton. Highways East Midlands is reporting this is a “Nottinghamshire Police led incident” with the closure expected to remain in place for a number of hours.
Nottinghamshire Police tweeted just before 8.30pm to say: “The A52 Derby Road is currently closed inbound between Bramcote Island and Priory Island following a serious collision. “The road is expected to be closed for some time so motorists are asked to avoid the area and to find an alternative route.” While a spokesperson for Highways East Midlands posted on X (formerly Twitter) to say: “A52 eastbound is closed between A6007 Bramcote and A6464 Wollaton due to a v serious @nottspolice[2] led incident. “Info from scene indicates this closure will be in place for a number of hours Diversion:- via the #M1[4] northbound to J26 #Nuthall[5], then eastbound on the #A610[6].”
