A689 Frosterley crash: Person taken to hospital

Emergency services were alerted to a one-vehicle collision between Stanhope[1] and Frosterley, in Weardale, at about 2.40pm. Police and the ambulance service attended. The driver was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, while the passenger as unhurt.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 2.42pm this afternoon (Wednesday 6 December) to reports of a road traffic incident on the A689 in Bishop Auckland.

“We dispatched an ambulance crew and a rapid response paramedic to the scene.

One patient was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham for further treatment.”
