A985 shut in both directions after two-vehicle crash
A major road has been closed in both directions after a two-vehicle crash in Fife. Traffic Scotland confirmed that the A985 at the B9156 near Dunfermline is shut in both directions due to the Collison. Emergency services were called to the scene around 6.50am on Tuesday, December 5.
Police confirmed that recovery had been arranged. It has not yet been confirmed if anyone was injured in the crash. Drivers have been advised to take alternative routes, and a local diversion has been put in place.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.50am on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, police were called to the A985 at the B9156, near Dunfermline, following a report of a two-vehicle crash. “Emergency services are at the scene and recovery has been arranged. “Local diversions are currently in place.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted by our emergency service partners at 7.21am on Tuesday, December 5, to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A985 outside Broomhill High Luxe Farm Cottage, Dunfermline. “Operations Control mobilised two appliances and specialist resources to the scene where upon arrival crews found a casualty trapped within one vehicle. “Firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear to free the trapped casualty who was transferred into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Crews left the scene at 8.25am after ensuring the area was made safe”.
