Air ambulance called as person trapped in three-car smash
One person has been taken to hospital after a crash in Whetstone involving three vehicles. Police, the fire and rescue service, and ambulance crews were called to the scene in Countesthorpe Road shortly before 11am today (Dec 6). Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said one person, a female who has not been identified, had become trapped in her vehicle.
Two appliances attended the scene from Southern and Lutterworth Station. An air ambulance was also deployed to the scene. The trapped female was rescued and taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary[1] by East Midlands Ambulance Service (Emas).
Leicestershire Police said no life-threatening or life-changing injuries were reported. The road was blocked in both directions while the incident was dealt with. Officers remained at the scene while the incident was cleared and vehicles were recovered.
