Air ambulance lands as multiple people taken to hospital after M6 crash
Multiple people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash on the M6. Emergency services were called to the motorway, at the Thelwall Viaduct, Warrington, at around 7.48am on Monday, December 11.[1] Police confirmed two HGVs[2], a white Ford Zetec and a white Ford Kuga were involved in a crash. Cheshire fire and rescue service also attended and cut one person out of a vehicle, after they were stuck.
Fire and ambulance crews also helped with the road closure in both directions to allow the air ambulance to land.[3] Try Liverpool Echo Premium for 99p with no ads, fun puzzles and brilliant new features[5] One person sustained a serious chest injury as a result and they were taken to hospital via air ambulance.
A number of other people have been taken to hospital by paramedics. There are delays of up to 90 minutes as traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads, following the crash.
