Appeal launched to trace vehicle involved in rush-hour hit and run

An appeal has been launched to trace a vehicle that “failed to stop” after being involved in a crash in Dundee. The two-car crash happened at the junction of Gillburn Road and Strathmartine Road around 7am on Friday. The crash involved a white Hyundai i10 and a white or silver hatchback car.

Police confirmed that the driver of the Hyundai stopped at the scene and contacted the force. The driver of the other vehicle did not stop and fled the scene down Camperdown Road. Officers said the vehicle will be recognisable as it will have sustained damage to the rear of the driver’s side.

The driver of the Hyundai was not injured and recovery was arranged for his vehicle.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The driver of the second car, or any witnesses to the crash, are urged to contact police as soon as possible via 101 and quote incident number 0555 of December 29, 2023.”
