Armed home invasion in Albany leads to police pursuit, three arrested
ALBANY, N.Y. -- An Albany man said he was robbed at gun point after four people broke into his home, according to the Albany Police Department. Albany police said they were called to the man's home, near Elberon Place and South Lake Avenue, around 10:05 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29. Later that night, police say they found an 18-year-old with a gunshot wound to his left leg on the 300 block of Myrtle Avenue. The teenager was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police say the 18-year-old, Chauncy Compton, was involved in the home invasion before they were shot by another suspect.
Compton was arrested and charged with burglary and robbery. On December 5, police pursued a vehicle they thought was connected to the home invasion. Police say that vehicle crashed into multiple cars before coming to a stop.
Police found a loaded gun, drugs and stolen items from the home invasion in the vehicle. DEVELOPING: Multiple victims reported in active shooting at UNLV, shooter is dead[2] Two suspects in the vehicle were taken into custody.
Raven Simmons, 27, was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy, criminal facilitation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Simmons was arraigned with bail set for £50,000. The other suspect, 29-year-old Devon Davis, was charged with attempted murder, robbery, burglary, conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon.
Davis was arraigned and remanded to Albany County Jail.
