Arrest after two car smash involving police car

A driver has been arrested after a two car smash involving a police car. The incident happened at the junction of Princess Avenue and Granby Street in Toxteth[1] at around 8.40pm on Friday, December 29. A marked Merseyside Police[2] vehicle and a black Ford Fiesta crashed on the road.

Pictures from the scene show both vehicles being recovered, with the police car having visible damage to the front bumper. A spokesperson from Merseyside Police told The ECHO there were no injuries following the incident.

The force added one person was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a sample.
