Arrest made after alleged kidnapping in Gloucester

Police say a man forcefully put a woman into a waiting taxi and assaulted her during an incident in Lossiemouth Road, Kingsway on Wednesday, November 22 The vehicle then left the area and a man was arrested the following day. He has been charged, remanded in custody and is due in court next month.

It is understood those involved are known to each other. Gloucestershire Police have now launched a separate appeal to identify a potential witness – who is not a suspect – who may be able to help officers. A police spokesperson said: “Police have released an image of a man who may be able to help an investigation into an alleged kidnap. “The man, who was seen walking his dog, is being treated as a potential witness and is not a suspect. “A different man has been charged with kidnap in connection with the incident and a woman has been safeguarded.

“Officers investigating the case have now released an image of a dog walker who was in the area at the time of the incident in a bid to identify him. “Police are keen for him to come forward as he may be able to assist the ongoing investigation.” Anyone who recognises the man pictured is asked to provide information online by completing the following form and quoting incident 275 of November 23, here – tinyurl.com/4abtem4u[1]
