A 17-year-old girl has died days after she was injured in a car crash while on the way to see Christmas[2] lights.

Kinslee Creed had been a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a collision on Hadley Road in Harris County, Georgia[3], Friday.

The high school senior was in the front seat of a Chevy Tahoe when a driver in a Chrysler 300 made an improper lane change. The Chrysler driver hit the car where Creed was a passenger, causing the Tahoe to leave the road and overturn, according to Georgia State Police.

Creed, who had been traveling to see Christmas lights at the time, was rushed to hospital and taken to ICU, where she died from her injuries on Monday.

‘You were sunshine in human form, and no one could ever dull your light. We love you, Kinslee.

Thank you for the way you lit up our lives,’ one friend said in a touching tribute.

The teenager had lived in LaGrange, Georgia, and was a senior at Callaway High School.

On Tuesday night, the school held a moment of silence for Creed before a basketball game.

An obituary posted about Creed described her as being ‘unapologetically herself’, and that she enjoyed spending time with her family, boyfriend and close friends.

In a post to social media, Creed’s mom Laura Buice said: ‘I don’t have the words as my world has crashed down and my heart has shattered in a million pieces.

‘I do want everyone to know I see the messages and posts and I see how my sweet girl has impacted so many lives.

‘Even though I can’t reply right now please keep sharing and posting, so I can see her as each of you saw her.’

A GoFundMe has been created[4] to help her family, who do not have life insurance, and need help with funeral expenses.

In a post to the fundraiser, it said: ‘Unfortunately, after fighting a hard battle Kinslee has gained her angel wings.

‘The family does not have life insurance and need help with funeral expenses. Anything helps. Thank you all for the prayers.’

It added: ‘As many of you know Kinslee Creed, a 17 year old senior from Callaway High School, was in a very bad car accident Friday night on her way to see Christmas lights.

She’s been in ICU in critical care since.

‘Her parents along with many other family and friends have been by her side every single second. Not leaving the hospital at all.

‘They’ve had to take time off from work and the holidays are right around the corner.

‘Please let’s rally together and help this family with medical expenses, food, bills and the holidays to help ease that strain from them.’

Since being started earlier this week, the fundraiser has raised over £18,000 and friends have also left tributes to her on social media.

One person posted: ‘My sweet friend, we miss you so much. You made such a big impact on so many people.

‘You lit up every room you entered in your life, and you made any and every person you encountered smile and laugh.

Another commented: ‘She was truly a shinning star and a breath of fresh air with the world we live in.

‘The moment I found out my heart dropped and I couldn’t believe it was real.

I prayed and prayed and prayed for a miracle, but God called her home.’

A funeral service is to be held next Wednesday at the Baptist Tabernacle in LaGrange.
