Best festive pictures of this year’s big Christmas Tractor Convoy
The convoy, organised by local farmer Olly Harrison, has previously raised an enormous GBP75,000 for Alder Hey Liverpool’s Christmas Tractor Convoy trundled into its fourth year this evening as dozens of festive vehicles illuminated the streets. Around 90 tractors, diggers and trucks decorated with sparkling lights travelled around the city spreading Christmas cheer and raising important funds for Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
The convoy began at Tarbock at 5.30pm and made its way in two parts to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital[1], where young patients and their families gathered on the street and at windows to watch the spectacle go by.
The convoy, organised by local farmer Olly Harrison, has previously raised an enormous GBP75,000 for Alder Hey. This year, the event is on track to raise tens of thousands more, as an online fundraiser currently stands at GBP28,300 – with more donations being added to buckets passed round alone the convoy route.
Unlike in other years, this year’s event did not have a police convoy, and roads were not partially closed to make way for the tractors, which meant the convoy was largely split into two parts, with some minor delays due to red lights and traffic.
Here are some of the best pictures of the festive tractors as they headed past Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, to the delight of the gathering crowds.
