Boy, 12, taken to hospital after being knocked down in hit-and-run in Hexham
A 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being knocked down by a car in a hit-and-run in Northumberland[1]. Northumbria Police[2] received a report that between 3.10pm and 3.30pm on Thursday, December 7, the boy had been crossing Allendale Road opposite the Fox Public House in the west end of Hexham[3] when he was struck by a small purple vehicle, which officers believe may have been a Suzuki. The driver left the scene without stopping and the boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
He was later discharged. Police immediately launched an investigation into the incident and are now appealing for witnesses to contact them. They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area at the time and motorists who may have dashcam footage.
