Boy, 7, killed in Folkestone hit and run as police launch manhunt for driver

Police have appealed for information after a seven-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run in Folkestone on Wednesday. An unidentified car or van left the scene in the direction of Hythe before emergency services arrived, Kent Police said. The child was hit as he walked on the A259 Sandgate Esplanade after a car crash, also involving a red Citroen car, happened at around 5.35pm.

He was confirmed dead at the scene near the junction with Prospect Road. His next of kin have been informed, police added. Any witnesses or those with dashcam or CCTV footage are urged to contact the police[1].
