Chairman Looks Back on a Huge 12 Months For Scarborough Athletic
As 2023 comes to an end, Boro chairman Trevor Bull has been looking back on an eventful period in the club’s short history. The Seadogs missed out on a play-off place in their first season in National North in May. They then completed a number of ground improvements at the Flamingo Land Stadium, over the summer, including a new fanzone.
Scarborough Athletic made the FA Cup First Round for the first-ever time in November. They led Forest Green of League Two until the closing seconds at home, before losing 5-2 in a midweek replay. However, drama followed as the Gloucestershire club were found to have named an ineligible player and a third tie was demanded by the FA, back at The Flamingo Land Stadium.
Boro lost 4-2 but impressed many with their efforts- with the off-field delays, they knew a win would secure a trip to Blackpool followed by a potential visit to Premier League Nottingham Forest in round 3. Trevor says it’s been eventful:
