A-listers have started to descend upon Manchester as Chanel hosts its annual Metiers d’Art show in the Northern Quarter. Big names from the worlds of fashion, film and music will attend the exclusive event, taking place on Thursday evening.[1][2][3][4] The 600-strong guest list is said to include VIPs from across the globe[5], with many linked to the city.
Manchester United legend David Beckham and Spice Girl Victoria Beckham are rumoured to be among those invited. Chanel Ambassador and actress Kristen Stewart was spotted outside the Stock Exchange Hotel in the city centre on Wednesday. More celebrities are expected to arrive in the coming hours ahead of the show tomorrow.
Other names rumoured to attend are actors Margot Robbie and Timothee Chalamet, both faces for the fashion brand. It’s said that Vogue US editor Anna Wintour could also be in attendance. Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter has been transformed into a catwalk with a huge canopy going up above the road.
The Metiers d’Art show, which translates as “Master of arts”, is expected to take place from 5-8pm on Thursday evening. When the show has wrapped up, stars will be whisked off to an afterparty held at Victoria Baths. On Friday the baths will open to the public for a retrospective exhibition, supported by Chanel.
