Chennai ganja seller, 19, hurls crude bomb at rival’s house, held
CHENNAI A 19-year-old ganja peddler who hurled a crude bomb at his rival's house in KK Nagar on Friday midnight was arrested by police. Police nabbed the accused a few hours after the incident.Police said Satish,19, involved in three cases including ganja peddling, is a resident of 63rd Street, Tiruvalluvar Colony, KK Nagar. He woke up in the middle of the night upon hearing an explosion and noticed that the clothes and wood left on the balcony had caught fire.He found a broken bottle, a cap with a wick, and kerosene splashed all over the balcony.
Based on Satish's complaint, the KK Nagar police registered a case. He informed the police that he suspected his friend-turned-foe Harish as he had threatened him on social media.Subsequently, KK Nagar police inspector Alex arrested Harish who was remanded in judicial custody. During inquiry, police found that Satish and Harish used to sell ganja in the neighbourhood.
They later became enemies and demarcated areas to sell the contraband. More peddlers joined the duo. Trouble began in June this year when Kitcha, one of Satish's associates, attacked Harish.
Though Kitcha died in a road accident recently, Harish threatened Satish in retaliation for the June's attack and threw the crude bomb.
