China-North Korea truck traffic resumes in sign of reopening
DANDONG, China — Large cargo trucks have been seen crossing a key bridge for trade between North Korea and China in recent weeks, signaling the reopening of cross-border commerce that could alleviate shortages plaguing Pyongyang.
On a morning in mid-November, at least six large vehicles crossed the Yalu River from Dangdong in China’s Liaoning province.
Four midsize to large trucks and two trailers headed to Sinuiju on the North Korean side at a low speed.
