‘Christmas ruined’ after Mazda wrecked in crash on A436 near Swindon

On the evening of December 25, a BMW ploughed into a Mazda on the A346 road between Swindon[1] and Marlborough. The incident which more specifically took place between Chiseldon and Ogbourne St George left the red Mazda a total wreck, as pictures shared by Wiltshire Police show. Wiltshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene, but it is understood that no one was seriously hurt.

The driver of the BMW was arrested on suspicion of exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit for driving.

A police spokesperson said: "It's been illegal in one form or another since 1872; but some people still don't seem to be getting the message about drink driving.

"Christmas ruined for the occupants of this Mazda; fortunately relatively minor injuries; one BMW driver arrested for driving with excess alcohol."
