City reports 8 thefts from vehicles this Dec

CHANDIGARH: Vehicles seem to have become a new target for burglars in the city. So far in December, eight theft cases have been reported wherein the miscreants stole away cash and other valuable material from two- and four-wheelers. However, in many cases no FIR was registered by the respective police stations while in some cases investigation is under way.On December 23, some unidentified persons stole around Rs 1.70 lakh cash from a car parked outside a shop in Sector 47.The complainant, Satish Arya, a resident of Sector 46, stated that he had parked his car outside a shop in Sector 47.

After running some errands when he came back to his car, he found a bag containing Rs 1.70 lakh cash missing.On December 22, two bike-borne men stole two bags containing Rs 3 lakh cash from the car of a Moga-based businessman in Sector 38, after tricking him of oil leaking from the car engine. The complainant Nitin Garg then filed a complaint with the police. In another case, Muskan of Nayagaon, Mohali, on December 18, had reported that some unknown persons stole away two mobile phones from her two-wheeler parked outside the DAV college in Sector-10.On December 18, Sachin Sharma of Sector 123, Mohali reported that some unknown person stole Rs 48,000 from his car after breaking the window glass of his car which was parked near a milk dairy at Palsora village in Sector 56.An amount of Rs 1.25 lakh was stlen from the pickup truck Rakesh Kumar of Shimla on December 16.

The accused had broke open the lock of truck parked at Sector-26.

Dharminder of Sector-22 reported that some unknown person stole away a bag containing clothes from his car after breaking the window glass of his car parked outside his house on December 10.Harbhajan Lal, a resident of Sector 45, a money exchanger informed the police that Rs 5 lakh was stolen from the boot space of his activa which was parked outside the woman police station in Sector 17 on December 9.We also published the following articles recently
