Cleveland Police Activity Report – Week Of December 11th – 17th
(Cleveland)- The City of Cleveland Police Department reports the following activities for the week ending December 18th, 2023.
December 14Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident on GA Hwy 11 at Donald E. Thurmond Pkwy.
No injuries, vehicles were damaged, with one being towed. One driver was issued a citation.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident on Cemetery Street at Church Street. No injuries, vehicles were damaged, with one being towed.
One Driver was issued a citation. Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident on GA Hwy 115 at Campbell Street. One vehicle was turning onto Campbell Street when a vehicle turning off Campbell Street hit the vehicle turning, causing it to roll over onto its passenger side.
The vehicle turning off Campbell Street fled the scene. Minor injuries were reported, vehicle damaged and was towed. Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident on GA Hwy 115 at Campbell Street.
One vehicle slowed down for the vehicle accident on Campbell Street and was calling 911 when the vehicle behind her hit her. No injuries, minor vehicle damage, one driver was issued a citation.
December 15Officer conducted a traffic stop on Wilford Ash Sr Pkwy @ White Street Connector for failure to maintain lane. The driver was arrested for no license and Driving under the influence, and failure to maintain lane.December 16Officer conducted a traffic stop South Main Street @ Quillian Street for an expired registration.
The driver was arrested for driving with no license and expired registration.December 18On December 9th, 2023, an Officer responded to a Helen Hwy Business for an Entering Auto and Damage to Property Report. The officer gathered information from the victim and started a report. Cpl Brandon Wood was able to view the video, speak with witnesses, and identify the offenders.
The Offenders were known to the victim.
The offenders damaged the victim’s vehicle by pouring gas into the gas tank. The offenders stole a steering wheel cover and pink dice from the vehicle. Olivia Mikayla Helms, 17 YOA of Cleveland, GA, and Ian Jeffery Fischer, 18 YOA of Cleveland Georgia were arrested and charged with Criminal Damage to Property 2 nd Degree, Entering Auto with intent to commit a felony, Entering Auto with intent to commit a theft.
Ms.
Helms was also charged with Misdemeanor Obstruction for resisting arrest by tensing up and pulling away from the officer.
Both were transported to White County Detention Center and turned over on State Warrants.
