Cornwall lorry jack-knife sparks police roads warning

Police said they were called to a jack-knifed lorry in Cornwall Police in Cornwall have warned people to “drive carefully” after a lorry jack-knifed on a water-logged road. The incident at 08:15 GMT on Sunday happened on the A30 eastbound near Highgate Hill, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

The force said the driver was uninjured but the road was closed while it was cleared. It added: “Please drive carefully on the A30 and in that location. “There is mud and debris on the road and visibility is poor, we do want to raise awareness of drivers to be safe.”

The warning followed the cancellation of rail services on Saturday due to track flooding, while heavy rain earlier in the week caused flooding across Devon and Cornwall.[1][2]
