Weymouth and Portland Neighbourhood Policing Team's 31 Festive Days Operation will also see officers on the look out for shoplifters.

The initiative, which is now under way, will see the team focus on different policing aspects each day throughout December.

The police team will work with partner agencies to try and keep people safe and will be conducting patrols around Weymouth and Portland.

A spokesman said: "We will also be sending out regular messages providing information about personal safety advice, crime prevention advice and updates on what we are doing and where we will be if you want to come and meet us."
