Crash closes A4232 in Cardiff causing severe delays
There were severe delays on a major road in Cardiff after an accident on Tuesday morning. The A4232 eastbound at Butetown Tunnel, heading into the city, was closed according to traffic monitoring service Inrix. One vehicle was involved and there was debris on the road , with congestion stretching to Culverhouse Cross beyond all the way to where the road reaches the M4.
The queues affected most routes heading into Cardiff, as well as the city's bus services, with Cardiff Bus warning of "severe delays in and around the area".
The vehicle was carrying scaffolding which hit the matrix sign so the road was closed for safety so the sign can be looked at for damage, Inrix added.
