Crash in A1035 near Hornsea as police close road for hours

The A1035 was shut in both directions after a serious crash this morning. Humberside Police shut A1035 West Road in both directions. There was heavy traffic due to the crash in the section between Rowpit Lane (Catwick) to B1243 Main Street (Sigglesthorne).

The crash was reported at 8.15am this morning. It was re-opened after 12pm.

Yesterday, footage showed severe flooding in the same stretch of road. Cars were filmed passing through the flood water at little more than walking speed as motorists tried to navigate the hazard.

There is currently an amber flood alert in parts of Hornsea but it does not cover West Road.
