Officers have made an arrest after they were called to West Street, Crewe early on Sunday after reports of an ongoing disturbance, Cheshire Police said.

A bottle of ammonia was recovered from the scene and a man, 20, arrested on suspicion of assault, the force said. Safeguarding referrals had been put in place for the victim, officers added. The investigation, involving specialist officers, is ongoing, police say.
