Crime nightmare before Christmas as raiders target homes, cars and sheds

There has been a flurry of crimes[1] across Gloucestershire in the run-up to Christmas. Thieves have been targeting homes, vehicles and sheds. Among the items stolen are a Honda motorbike, wallets, Champagne and alcohol, tools and clothing.

A number of recent crimes have been sent out as Community Alerts by Gloucestershire police[2] as they seek information from the public. They also want to warn people to take precautions to avoid becoming a victim of crime. List of crimes

An attempted burglary has been made at Leckhampton Road, Cheltenham. A crowbar was used to attempt to open the door, the victim saw them doing this and banged on the window and the offenders walked away.

This happened at 5:10am on Monday, December 18. Incident no 54 of the 18/12/23. Four males had been seen arriving in the area in a car, they set off on foot wearing dark clothing carrying torches in Leckhampton Road, Cheltenham.

It is believed to be linked to the above incident. A vehicle has been seized.

Three people dressed in black wearing face masks have been seen on CCTV breaking into a business site. Nothing stolen in the incident at Ablemarle Gate, Cheltenham. This happened around 12:20am on Monday, December 18.

Incident no 009 of the 18/12/23. Between 8pm on Monday (December 18) and 7am on Tuesday (December 19) in Tynings Road, Nailsworth, a Honda NC750X VRM motorbike was stolen from the drive. The motorbike had a steering lock on it so it is presumed to have been carried away.

A tool has been used to smash a car window and a black Samsung fold Z5 has been stolen from Barton Street, Gloucester. This happened on Saturday, December 16 between 5.30pm and 7pm. Incident no 396 of the 16/12/23.

An unlocked vehicle in Gloucester Road, Cheltenham, was entered between 5.30pm on Sunday, December 17 and 8am on Monday, December 18. A coat, wallet containing bank and ID cards were stolen as well as a bottle of Champagne. Incident number 0104 of the 18/12/23

Alcohol has been stolen from the back of a car by unknown means in Eldon Road, Cheltenham. This happened on Saturday, December 16 between 5.5pm and 6.10pm. Incident no 377 of the 16/12/23.

Fuel has been siphoned from a car in Wharf Lane, Lechlade. This happened between the Tuesday, December 12 and Thursday, December 14. Incident no 240 of the 16/12/23.

Unknown offenders entered a car by unknown means and stole a long light brown sleeveless puffer jacket from the boot in St Stephens Road, Cheltenham. This happened between 9pm on Friday, December 15 and 8.15am on Saturday, December 16. Incident no 154 of the 16/12/23.

A male riding a bike, wearing a beige colour top has been seen smashing a window on a car, and a messy search was carried out in Glencairn Park Road, Cheltenham. No reports of anything stolen. This happened around 12:55am on Saturday, December 16.

Incident no 024 of 16/12/23. An unknown suspect has stolen a Yamaha 125. It was secured with a D-lock and a cable, both have been cut through in Queens Road, Cheltenham.

This happened between Friday, December 15 at 5.30pm and 3.30pm on Saturday, December 16. Incident no 298 of 16/12/23. A van has been broken into by unknown means in Plough Court, Mickleton, Chipping Campden.

A number of tools have been stolen including nail guns, circular saw, a large bag of hand tools etc. This happened between 8pm on Thursday, December 14 at 8pm and 6am on Friday, December 15. Incident no 220 of 15/12/23.

Offenders have gained entry to an unlocked shed and have stolen a set of golf clubs in Sherborne, Cheltenham. This happened between 5pm on Tuesday, December 12 and 8am on Saturday, December 16. Incident no 372 of 16/12/23.

A lock has been broken off a shed on an allotment and three windows smashed in Cotsmore Close, Moreton In Marsh. This happened around Tuesday, December 5. It’s the second time that a break has been reported on the same shed.

Incident no 384 of 15/12/23. A porch window has been smashed on a house, car keys and vehicle have been stolen in Notgrove, Cheltenham. This happened at 12.30am on Sunday, December 17.

Incident no 011 of 17/12/23. A house has been entered at the rear by jimmying the lock. Drawers have been opened but nothing stolen in the incident in Peghouse Rise, Stroud.

Lights were seen on, on the evening of Wednesday, December 13. Incident no 240 of 15/12/23. A padlock has been removed on a shed at the rear of a premises by unknown means.

Crates of soft drinks and snacks have been taken during the incident in Evesham Road, Cheltenham. This happened between 4.15pm on Friday, December 15 and 9am on Saturday, December 16. Incident no 142 of 16/12/23.
