Cyclist sentenced after pedestrian seriously injured
The incident happened when Pietrzyk was cycling on Elizabeth Way in Cambridge on 4 May 2022 at about 15:45 BST.
Pietrzyk appeared at Cambridge Crown Court to plead guilty to causing bodily harm by wanton/furious driving.
PC Tom Robinson, of Cambridgeshire police, said the cyclist demonstrated remorse but a "lapse in concentration" had left a man with "life-changing injuries."
He said: "The victim now suffers with severe memory loss and has complex needs as a result of the incident.
"Cyclists, like any other road users, are obliged to take reasonable care to avoid causing damage to others using, or present, on the road."
