Cyclist tragically dies in crash in Ferry Lane, Stoneferry, Hull

A cyclist has sadly died following a crash on Ferry Lane, police confirmed this evening. The man was riding close to the roundabout with Stoneferry Road when he was in collision with a white heavy goods vehicle pulling a blue trailer. Emergency services were called at around 7.45am[1], but the man died at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

An investigation was launched and a tent was put up at the scene. Police closed Stoneferry bridge and the A1033 Stoneferry Road, between Leads Road and Chamberlain Road, for much of the day. Diversions were put in place as far away as Mount Pleasant.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area, with heavy traffic and long delays reported on routes in and out of central Hull. The road and bridge reopened at around 3.45pm. In a statement, Humberside Police said: “Enquiries are under way and we are appealing to anyone that witnessed the incident, or either vehicle prior to the collision, to please get in touch via our non-emergency 101 line, quoting log 75 of December 8.”
