A witness said: “The police car pulled over on blue lights. An officer got out and opened the back passenger door. “The occupant leaned out and threw up all over the road.

I went to park in Newport Street and walked up to Broad Street and they were still there. It stopped traffic because one lane of Bridge Street was closed. “I hope the person is okay.”

She said she saw an ambulance heading in the direction of the incident but was unsure whether it was connected. A second witness, who did not wish to be named, said the police car was stopped in the right hand lane at the traffic lights. “The traffic was backed up to the Cathedral.

I just thought why is the traffic so bad? I thought there must have been a crash. The police officer got the man out of the car and the man walked unsteadily over to the corner and stood there on the pavement,” she said.

Both West Mercia Police and the West Midlands Ambulance Service could find no record of the incident.
