Derbyshire police name man who died in Ashover collision

A man who died in a collision in Ashover has been named by Derbyshire police[1]. The incident happened at the junction of Amber Lane and Slack Lane last Thursday evening. A Derbyshire police[2] statement said: “Andrew Hooper was driving a Fiat 500 which was in collision with a Ford Puma at the junction of Amber Lane and Slack Lane at around 5.45pm on Thursday, December 7.

“Mr Hooper, who was 60, and from Chesterfield, died at the scene. His family are being supported by specialist officers and our thoughts are with them at this time.” POLL: Is the government doing enough to help with the cost of living?[3]

Following the collision,[4] the A632 Matlock Road was closed in both directions[5] leading to delays for those travelling between Matlock and Chesterfield and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
