Dog killed and owner seriously injured in hit and run
A dog has died and its owner has been left seriously injured after a hit and run. A 63-year-old man was walking his dog along Manley Road, near Frodsham[1], when they were hit by a car at around 1.50pm on Friday, December 1. The man suffered two broken bones in his leg which required surgery and his dog died.
The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene. Police enquiries[2] are ongoing and officers are urging anyone with any information is asked to get in touch.
Police Constable[5] Phil Brewster said: “This is an extremely distressing incident and we’re committed to doing all that we can to trace the person responsible. As part of the investigation we would like to hear from anyone with was in the area and believes they may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage from Manley Road around the time of the collision.
“We’re also keen to hear from residents on Manley Road with CCTV or video doorbell footage from around the time of the collision. The incident is believed to have occurred at 1.50pm on Manley Road, between the Simons Lane and Hazlehurst Road junctions. “Therefore, I’d ask anyone who resides on Manley Road to check their cameras between 1.40pm and 2.10pm to see if they have any footage which may aid the investigation.
