Driver fined by courts for speeding at close to 100mph on motorway …

Liam Bush reached speeds of close to 100mph behind the wheel. The 33-year-old, of Windermere Avenue in Orford, faced a charge of speeding at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court. The court heard how the offence occurred on August 4 on the M62 westbound.

He was caught by an automatic camera device driving a Volkswagen Scirocco between junctions 12 for the M60 at Eccles and J11 for Birchwood. The speed limit at the time was 70mph – but Bush was caught travelling at a speed of 97mph. For his actions behind the wheel, the defendant was ordered to pay a total of GBP462.

This is broken down into a fine of GBP266, surcharge to fund victim services of GBP106 and court costs of GBP90.

In addition, the court ordered that his driving record be endorsed with five penalty points.
