Driver injured and road closed after multi-vehicle crash on Cambridgeshire border

A driver has been left injured following a multi-vehicle crash on a busy Cambridgeshire[1] A-road this morning (December 12). The incident was reported to have taken place at around 6am. Emergency services, including police and ambulance, were called to the A505 between Bridgefoot and Royston[2].

The road remains closed in both directions with queuing traffic between the Melbourn turn off and Meridian Gate Roundabout as well as the M11[3] and Baldock. The road is expected to remain closed throughout the morning. Motorists have been urged to avoid the area and find other routes if travelling in that direction.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: “There was a two vehicle collision on the A505 near Royston at around 6am this morning. The road was closed west bound after Flint Cross whilst we dealt with the incident. “Ambulance were called as one driver had minor injuries.

The scene has been handed over to the highways team.”
