Driver leads police on 140 mph chase into Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A driver is in custody after leading a Cuyahoga Heights police officer on a high speed chase early Thursday morning.

According to police, the driver of an Audi was going 140 mph on I-77 northbound near Fleet Avenue around 3 a.m.

The driver exited at Chester Avenue and then finally stopped his vehicle at Euclid Avenue and E.

30th Street, where he was taken into custody at gunpoint.

A Newburgh Heights police officer assisted at the scene.
