Driver leaves car parked across Winton high street, Bournemouth

Motorists were left queuing in Wimborne Road, close to the junction with Victoria Park Road, after a black Volkswagen Polo was abandoned in the middle of the road. Police were called to reports of a crash with two vehicles on Winton high street at 2pm on Friday, December 8. Officers have been looking for the driver of one of the cars after they reportedly left on foot, leaving the car parked across one of the lanes.

Polo left abandoned on Winton high street (Image: Andee Green) The road was eventually cleared at 3.45pm. A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 1.59pm of a collision in Wimborne Road in Bournemouth, which is believed to have involved two vehicles.

“It was reported that the driver of one of the vehicles left the scene on foot. “Officers attended the scene and have been carrying out searches of the area. “No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.

“The road was cleared and officers left the scene at around 3.45pm.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
