Driver remains in hospital after crash near Wallingford

While travelling from Wallingford to Didcot[1], the driver of a silver Honda Accord overtook two vehicles on the A4130 junction with Sires Hill in Brightwell-cum-Sotwell at around 8.45pm on December 9. Thames Valley Police said the motorist then lost control of the vehicle, crossing the other side of the road and crashing into a verge. A second vehicle, a blue BMW 3 Series estate overtook the two vehicles and collided with a white Suzuki driving in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Honda sustained serious injuries which required hospital treatment where he remains at this time. A 29-year-old man from Abingdon[3] has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after a road accident, failing to report road accident, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving without insurance. He has since been released under investigation.
