Edinburgh police swoop on busy city road as two arrests made following ‘assault’
Police in Edinburgh swooped on a busy street following an alleged assault[1] as at least seven vehicles were spotted at the scene. Footage uploaded to social media on Thursday night shows a huge police[2] presence on Ferry Road and Trafalgar Street with police vans and cars parked on the side of the road. It is understood police were called to the street at around 9pm following an assault and breach of the peace as two men, aged 32 and 36, were arrested in connection with both offences.
A spokesperson for the force confirmed they were called to a premises on Ferry Road on December 28 as traffic and buses were temporarily forced into the middle of the road due to the huge police presence. Sign up for Edinburgh Live newsletters[5] for more headlines straight to your inbox A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Two men aged 32 and 36-years-old were arrested at premises in Ferry Road, Edinburgh on Thursday, 28 December, 2023 in connection with offences including assault and breach of the peace.
“They are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday, 29 December, 2023.”
