Emergency services rush to Glasgow Central as person falls onto the tracks

Services[1] coming in and out of Glasgow[2] Central were impacted late last night, December 27, after emergency services arrived on the scene to pull someone from the tracks. The British Transport Police arrived at the transport hub at around 11.20pm after receiving reports of an individual on the tracks. The person was pulled to safety, however, their conditon is not known.

At the time of the incident ScotRail[3] took to social media to confirm that some services had been impacted.

They posted on X: “The emergency services are dealing with an incident at Glasgow Central, which is affecting services coming in and out of the station. “UPDATE: Following this incident, services are returning to normal.”

A spokesperson from the British Transport Police[6] said: “Officers were called to Glasgow Central[7] railway station at around 11.20pm yesterday (27 December) following reports that a person had fallen onto the tracks.

“Officers attended and the person was removed from the tracks.”
