Everton duo step up recovery, key man absent and more things spotted in training
Five things spotted from Everton training at Finch Farm as Sean Dyche's side prepare to go to Nottingham Forest Everton captain Seamus Coleman looks to be stepping things up in training ahead of a long-awaited potential return. The latest batch of training pictures from the Blues' Finch Farm base in Halewood[1] - taken on November 28 - show their skipper in the thick of the action. Coleman[2], 35, was included in the first team squad for the first time since May 1 for Everton[3]'s previous match, a 3-0 home defeat to Manchester United last Sunday.
The Republic of Ireland international, who hasn't featured since he was stretchered off in the 2-2 draw with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, last completed 90 minutes since Everton's 1-0 win over Brentford at Goodison Park on March 11. However, Coleman - who only needs to play three more games to overtake his former team-mate Tim Howard[4]'s Premier League[5] appearance record for the club - could be in line for a possible recall against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground following Ashley Young's[6] difficult outing against one of his previous sides last weekend when he was booked and then conceded a penalty.
Another squad member who hasn't featured this term, Andre Gomes[9] was also photographed taking part in the session as the Blues prepare to the face the club where manager Sean Dyche[10] started his playing career.
Here are five things spotted from the selection of photographs...
