Family’s heartache as roadside memorial for Sean Taylor vandalised months after death in crash
The family and friends of Grimsby man Sean Taylor who died in a car crash in September have been left devastated after finding a roadside memorial for him was recently damaged. Father-of-three Sean Taylor, 36, was travelling through Ludborough on the A16[1] when his silver BMW left the road and hit a tree on the night of September 21. At the time, Sean’s family paid tribute[2] to him as a “larger than life” character and said his tragic loss was a “massive void in all our lives”.
The memorial was placed on the roadside of the A16 at Ludborough. Between Sunday 26 and Tuesday 28 November, a memorial cross was removed. Not only that, but flowers and other items left at the site were damaged.
Speaking on behalf of Sean’s family, the Lincolnshire Police Family Liaison Officer said: “We are all struggling to find the right words. This is so terribly sad and I cannot understand why anyone would do this. Sean’s children and family are truly devastated.”
Lincolnshire Police is appealing for anyone who may have information that can assist the investigation to get in touch.
The force would also like to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage that may help in narrowing down when the damage was caused.
