Five critically wounded due to reckless driving and doing stunts in Dubai
A photo of the vehicle involved in the accident. Gulf Today, Staff Reporter Five people aged between 18 and 20 sustained minor to serious injuries in an accident that reportedly took place due to reckless driving and doing stunts by the involved vehicle’s driver.
Patrols and ambulance were dispatched to location of the accident in Al Ruwayyah, Dubai at 9:00pm on Monday, as soon as the operations room received a report indicating that a number of people injured when their vehicle overturned, Major General Saif Muheir Al Mazrouei, Director of General Director of Traffic at the Dubai Police said. He explained that the preliminary investigations found out that M.A.M, Emirati, 19, had driven a vehicle recklessly and done stunts in a sandy area in Al Ruwayyah leading the vehicle to swerve sharply and flip over. The driver, along with four others who were accompanying him in the vehicle sustained minor to critical injuries and they were transferred to the hospital.
Major General Saif Muheir Al Mazrouei warned of doing stunts and reckless driving to avoid such dangerous accidents that may claim lives or expose safety of those involved in these acts and those who may present at the site to risk.
He also appealed to families to protect their children by educating them and raising their awareness of dangers and risks of these acts.
