Five men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead at a seaside hotel.
Police were called to the Hotel Central in Weymouth, Dorset, on Saturday night at 11.07pm where a man ‘required medical assistance’.
He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained and the Major Crime[2] Investigation Team (MCIT) are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances.
But five local men – two 19-year-olds and others aged 21, 31 and 34 – have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify and inform the man’s next of kin and the coroner has been notified.
Detective Inspector Mark Jenkins of MCIT said: ‘Our thoughts are with the family of the man who sadly died, and we are carrying out a number of enquiries as we look to establish the full circumstances of this death.
‘I am appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in or around the Hotel Central in Maiden Street on the evening of Saturday, December 30, or who has any information that might assist our enquiries, to please contact us.
‘The investigation remains ongoing and there will be an increased policing presence in the vicinity as further enquiries are conducted.
Officers can be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns.’

A resident who lives on Maiden Street, where the hotel is located, said: ‘Last night the street was totally closed off.
‘There were ambulances, police cars, I saw paramedics going into the hotel.
‘I was upstairs and I didn’t hear anything when it happened.
‘I went to bed at about midnight and before I went to sleep I heard car doors slamming.
‘I looked outside and saw all of the police cars and ambulances outside.’
